Are Women In Tech Still Underrepresented? How is it Should be?
“To create a more diverse and inclusive tech world, we need to inspire and empower the next generation of female role models to pursue and develop their career in technology and become innovators, leaders, and entrepreneurs. It’s a process and it’s not always straightforward. It takes time, action, and support. Join us on a mission! Together we can make a difference.” (Anna Radulovski, WomenTech Network)
Today I read an article at the Guardian about the story of a mother who works for the tech company but she has a dilemma for caring for her third children. She chose to resign from her job because the company didn’t give her a chance for a part-time job. She frustration, she loses her potential skill without paying a job. She wrote about her predicament to the Facebook group
That story is almost similar to my experience before. The dilemma continues to work while taking care of the children or quit the job. Then, I have my first child, I decided to quit the job to take care of my early growing up my son.

What do you think about the story above? It looks there is discrimination for the women who work for tech companies or the other industry.
The pieces of information from many resources of the survey, data statistic, article about women in tech, we can find that there are still have many discriminations or gender biases. The technology is still dominated by the men and the women still underrepresented in tech
Look at the other data about women in tech :
- Only 17% of ICT specialists are women.
- Only 34% of STEM graduates are women.
- Women in the ICT sector earn 19% less than men.
- 46% of women have reported that they have experienced discrimination in the European tech sector.
- only 13% of the global Fortune 500 senior tech executives are female
Why the women all the world still underrepresented in tech? So, What should we do to close the gender gap? How to achieve women's growth?
The women feel unconfident to work in the STEM field or their skills. They think that is domination for the men, not suitable for them.
There is no women role model in the STEM field
We should give the women-friendly environment to work and support them
The positive information for getting jobs, discuss the matters, upgrade skills, and knowledge in the STEM for them.

I got the info DM Instagram from @nini.kvi who refer me to join a women community. It is called the women tech network. I learn the info from the link of the web. It sounds interesting to me. It might be for the other women all the world too. Why?
The women tech network was founded by Anna Radulovski, who will be the global community for the women in the world. WomenTech, the global network, is hosting the largest virtual tech conference for women, minorities, and their allies in science and engineering, WomenTech Global Conference 2020 on June 10th across all US and European time zones.
WomenTech Network is a global community that strives to make a difference in the world by enabling women’s empowerment in tech through leadership development, professional growth, mentorship, and networking events for professionals. As a joint-initiative between Coding Girls and Tech Family Ventures, it combines diverse networks and opportunities from leading tech companies to innovative startups.
#WTGC 2020 will feature tech professionals, industry innovators, and more than 2500 WomenTech Network Ambassadors & 300 speakers from around the world. Some of the speakers are the most accomplished women in tech, including technologists, scientists, and leaders at Amazon, Facebook, Founder Institute, Google, Harvard, IBM, Microsoft, Netflix, Stanford, Twitter, and many more.
“Women are more vulnerable in times of disruption, be it through a crisis as COVID-19 or job automation, as evidenced by the UN, more women work in low-paying, insecure and informal jobs without health insurance, thus compromising women’s ability to make a living and meet their families’ basic needs”, says Anna Radulovski, Founder and CEO at WomenTech Network, Coding Girls and Tech Family Ventures, and further continues “This is why by uniting 100 000 women in tech we act as a catalyst, inspiring women to enter, grow and excel in technology to become part of a solution by leading with purpose, humanity and impact”.
